Care / Treatment

The shift in lifestyle, demand and perception of owning a log home has meant a higher value of around $50+ per square foot more than a conventional stick framed home. And properly cared for, a log home will last well over 100 years with less money spent on repairs. Also log homes naturally don't require as much synthetic material as conventional construction, reducing the industrial footprint of pollution, energy consumption and waste.

Any project where the client is not completely satisfied, is usually the result of an inexperienced contractor who fails to understand the full potential of what is required to properly refinish a log home to its formal natural look.

Step-1

You have made the decision to get your Log Home back to its original condition and found us on Google or another search

as we do not do any print advertising to save on forest products. The best way to get started is to fill out our online “Request Form” under “Forms” and check the “Calendar” for available dates for the Category that best suits your needs.

You will receive a Quote/Contract back within 24 hours of us receiving all your information.

Step-2

You then sign Page 1 of the Contract and fax it to: 1-888-524-5067, then book the available date paying a retainer by way of either Wire Transfer, or Credit Card. After receiving the Contract, Booking information and the Retainer we then proceed to prepare for your project

All materials are paid in full prior to starting your job, or as needed for any extras.

NOTE: It is a good idea if the client is present to ensure that what he/she is looking for is fulfilled to their satisfaction.

Step-3

The first day on the job, we prepare the house for blasting by removing all light fixtures, hoses anything that needs to be removed so not to get damaged by the blasting process. Anything that can not be removed is properly covered with blasting board or tape. This usually takes only a few hours to complete, and blasting will begin on the first day of the job. Depending on the size of the project and weather a man-lift is used, it takes about 1 to 2 days to completely do the blasting of all the exterior wood.

Step-4

After we have completed all the blasting, we then re-tape any areas that still need protection for later when we do the staining and/or painting.

We sand with power sanders all areas that have been blasted to remove any loose fluff that still binds to the newly blasted wood. At the same time we fill any cracks or holes with a specially designed log filler to ensure no rain water will further damage any logs.

Step-5

After all the sanding and prep work has been completed, we then put on a coat of top quality stain by Benjamin Moore Paints called ARBORCOAT and let dry for that day. On the following day we then apply a 2nd coat of stain to ensure proper sealing of all the exterior logs is protected against the elements.

After all staining/painting is completed, we then start putting back all the hardware.

Step-6

The final day of the project we do a major clean-up of everything around the house, including cleaning of all windows and fixtures (sometimes repainting of fixtures) removing all debris into our dump trailers that are brought to the site on the final day. All debris once collected is then brought to a local landfill for proper disposal.

We then get you to inspect the job and once it is found to your satisfaction we then conclude our Contract with you by getting final payment sent by wire transfer or credit card.

We have been blasting/painting for over 30+ years and have perfected our method in such a way that we have not one unsatisfied client to date, something that says to everyone we truly are PROFESSIONALS in our field.
